Welcome to the Wyoming Field Guide, an application provided by the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database, a service and outreach unit of the University of Wyoming. This Guide provides information on the identification, distribution, status, and ecology of Wyoming's species. You can search for specific species in the Search box at the top of the page, or browse by clicking through the taxonomic tree shown above.
Accounts for bird, mammal, and amphibian Species of Greatest Conservation need were co-authored and are maintained collaboratively by zoologists of the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. All other species accounts are maintained by the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database. The Wyoming Field Guide web application was developed with support from the Wyoming Governor's Office, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
